| | This has happened before and IDKY. the tracker is not updating. I have to manually request location to get it to "start". The last update was 12:30am... 14 hours ago yet the phone has been traveling all over today since Google timelines tells me that. I don''''t get it. All settings are correct that I know of. Sometimes I have to restart the tracker. I''''ve gotten no notice that tracker was stoppped. (Icon is still green at last location). This doesn''''t help if phone is ever stolen. Any ideas? Thanks. Edit: It seems to happen when the phone goes dead. the app doesn''t start tracking once the phone is plugged in and charged. On the map it says at 12:30 am the battery was 0%. so how to prevent from this happening? It must be a setting I don''t have set right. | |

| | When the battery goes dead and the phone powers off, you charge the phone. But you still need to press the power button to start the phone, and unlock the phone. After that, the app will continue to track. If you don''t unlock the phone, android OS is not running and therefore the app could not start. | |

| | He's a 16 yo. He's on his phone constantly. It did it again today. Last updated st 10:30. He just left house 15 min ago and no update. He's been on his phone all morning. I had to force update location. I'll check time settings in phone. | |

| Yes. We did this. It was working fine since beginning of June. Now every day I have to force update. Can it come off the unmonitored list?
Once I force update it works fine the rest of the day.its random when it stops tracing. But seems to be at night mostly. Today it last tracked at 5:30 am. (Even tho I have settings to only track between 9 am and 10pm. He went to school 3 hours ago and I had to force update. I also notice geofences aren't being triggered. But I'll save that for another post. | |

| | This could be caused by the battery saver mode. You should disable the battery saving mode on the phone. When battery is low and the phone is put in battery saving mode, the battery optimization might be enabled for the app and data is disabled. This will affect the app negatively. You should disable this setting. | |

| | possibly but it does it all the time. he will go to bed at 12 midnight. phone is charged 100% all night because it''s plugged in. he''ll leave the house the next day and i have to force update. every morning when he goes to school I had to force update when he left the house. so then if battery optimization is enabled for a low battery does it stay enabled? i haven''t really encountered this problem before, now and again I have to force update which is fine, but this is constantly. I will have him turn off battery optimization. I''ll update. | |
